A walk, not a lecture
We go slowly and stop often. You’ll learn to spot a handful of plants properly — what they are, what they were used for, who used them, and which ones you can eat.
Nettles for rope and for soup. Elder as the healer’s tree. Why a patch of hedgerow can tell you where a farm stood four hundred years ago.
No experience needed, and no Latin unless you want it.

About Willem
Every landscape has a story, and the plants growing in it are the ones telling it. A patch of nettles where a cottage once stood. Foxgloves climbing the banks of an old drove road.
I’ve spent years doing hands-on land work across the UK and Europe, with a background in education. What I do now is somewhere between field ecology, folk history and just being outside and paying attention.
This isn’t about ticking off species. It’s about slowing down enough to notice what’s been growing beside you all along.

I have disabilities myself. I know what it’s like to want to come and not be sure you can.
